When it comes to channeling warm, cozy vibes during the colder months, there are plenty of beverages to choose from. One that’s always a winner, though? A turmeric latte — especially when it’s packed with these health-benefiting ingredients.

With a frothy base of hemp milk — made from seeds of the hemp plant —you're getting a solid dose of protein, iron and calcium. That’s not all, though: Because of the high amounts of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids hemp milk can also help keep your skin healthy, as well as make sure your muscles and nerves continue to function properly (heart, included!) due the magnesium it contains. With the addition of inflammation-fighting turmeric, antioxidant-loaded cinnamon, and mood-boosting vanilla, this warming winter treat is a mug full of wellness.

Makes 1 to 2 turmeric lattes, depending on the mug size.

Ingredients

2 cups hemp milk

½ tsp ground turmeric

½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp organic vanilla extract

1 to 2 Tbsp maple syrup

pinch of black pepper

Directions

1. In a blender, combine hemp milk, ground turmeric, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and 1 to 2 Tbsp of 100% organic maple syrup to add some sweetness. Blend until frothy and smooth.

3. Heat up the mixture on a pot on the stove on a low flame until warm.

4. Before drinking, add a tiny pinch of black pepper, which ups the effectiveness of the turmeric.
